Why concrete overlays?

Concrete is without a doubt the most widely used traffic surface in the world.    For centuries, plain gray concrete was accepted as a finished exterior surface and as an interior underlay to various floor coverings such as tile, linoleum, wood, carpet, even paint.    With Elite Crete, concrete is now an exciting new medium for a wide variety of artistic finishes.  The design possibilities are almost endless.

Although concrete overlay or resurfacing products have been around for many decades, it's only been 10 years since viable systems for northern climates have been developed that were cost effective enough for widespread use.  Fairly recent advancements in polymer and mix design technology have lead to Elite Crete's system, which dominates the US overlay market because of its performance, cost, ease of installation, versatility, and beauty.   When our polymer blends, white cement, various sized / shaped silica quartz aggregates, and other components are mixed according to engineered and tested specifications, it creates permanent, not temporary, concrete caps of remarkable beauty and durability. These coatings are generally installed from 1/16" up to 3/8" thick, with some applications even exceeding that thickness.

1)  Thin Stamped Overlays are by far the most popular exterior design, offering the beauty of  slate or other stone, but with less cost, more beauty, and more maintenance free durability than that of the real thing.   Immediately add rich curb appeal with a front porch and walkway, or make a dull back patio or pool deck into a new inviting oasis of natural stone beauty.

2)  Thin Stained Overlays are our featured interior designs.  Featuring Elite Crete System's Thin Finish™, Micro Finish™, and PT™ series 100% solids epoxies, these gorgeous commercial and residential custom flooring systems offer unmatched elegance and beauty for less than terrazzo and high-end tile or hardwood.   Whether it's a basement, family room, retail, restaurant, or office space - it's a space that can be brought to life with a Thin Stained Overlay.  

3) Sprayed or Troweled Overlays can be customized to fit any interior or exterior design.  Splatter Texture overlays are very popular for pool decks, patios, and recreational or high traffic areas where a no slip surface is desired.   Trowel down slate tile patterns offer an inexpensive option to traditional tile, but unlike traditional tile, Elite Crete will weathers the exterior freeze/thaw and salt exposure without yearly maintenance and repair.

Elite Crete of Michigan has service agreements with area contractors that we have trained to install our system; we seldom contract to residential customers directly. Elite Crete of Michigan may perform site surveys, take photographs, educate customers on installation processes, system finishes, and technical aspects of our product as well as provide complimentary design services.  Elite Crete of Michigan may provide written estimates that our preferred installers will honor.   Upon customer acceptance of our estimate, we will turn the customer over to a certified contractor with verifiable references and extensive experience in successful project installations, many of which you will find in our Photo Galleries .  The installation contractor will provide their own contract, which, if the scope of work doesn't change, will honor all pricing, warranties, and pricing provided in our estimate. The installation contractor will work with the customer directly throughout the installation process.   As a part of our quality assurance program, Elite Crete of Michigan will follow up with customers after project completion to take photos of their job, and ensure their satisfaction.
